Chinese electric vehicle (EV) giant BYD has fired its subcontractor, Jinjiang Construction, following serious allegations of forced labor at the construction site of its new EV factory in Camaçari, Brazil. Brazilian authorities rescued 163 workers who were reportedly subjected to "slavery-like" conditions, including overcrowded dormitories and inadequate sanitation facilities.
